Truck Training CDL A Course

Currently There are two way your Truck License:

1. You go to BMV and pass the written test and then we will be able to work with you once you have the permit. the fee is $125.00 per hour.

2. 78 classroom hours, 25 hours on lab, 19 hours backing maneuvers on the range parking lot.  23 hours on-the-road driving. PLUS up to two times use of our trucks for your Road Test.

Tuition includes books to use.

Classroom Training


Our state -of -the art classroom instruction utilizes PowerPoint and computers in our classroom as well as the PTDI TRACTOR-TRAILER TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING BOOK and the state of MAINE COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE MANUAL, plus thousand of sample test question just like your written test at the BMV.

This classroom prepares you to Take State of MAINE Written Permit Exam in two testing areas: $70.00 For General knowledge and air brakes. You will also need to pay The State of Maine fee:  PLUS each Additional endorsements fee is $20.00 that the STATE of Maine charges a student.

  • A valid Maine Driver’s License.

  • Participants should have a minimum of 8 grade reading level and be prepared to pass a drug test

  • A $1000.00* deposit (applies to tuition and is refundable if not accepted).

The tuition price of $3,500.00 plus the fees you want to test for Entry-Level Driver Training, and use of the truck for road testing. Students are  allowed two attempts as part of the program tuition.

During this portion of the training, you will learn how to pre-trip the out side of the truck and the inside truck (Air System), rpm and speed control, clutch control, shifting ( with double clutching, and with out the clutching, turns, couple-uncouple  5th wheel, straight line backing, lane change, blind side parallel backing and the alley dock backing. most of the maneuvers are the same as the STATE of Maine's Test. You will get 19.75 hour to practices the State required maneuvers to be able to pass the Road test.

Road Training and Testing in our Trucks

The last and most exciting of all the class A training is to perform on the public roads.

You will learn one on one with your instructor how to preform turn, cornering speeds merging, shifting on local city and county roads all of witch will prepare you for your State of Maine Commercial on Road Test.
