Course Policies 2024

 

CLASSROOM:

We look forward to a productive class and having you become a good safe driver!  We have set up a few guidelines for the course to help everything run smoothly and we will explain some of the things we will be doing in the classroom and in the car.  GoDriving.co is certified by the Secretary of State.  You must attend all zoom classes hours with our school and all AAA online program required by AAA. The fee is paid to AAA not our school, finish all 10 hours of driving time before a course completion certificate and a temporary 60-day learner’s permit can be issued to you.

 

ABSENTEEISM:

 If you miss a particular class, to complete the course, you are required to have time back into another course and make up the exact class you missed.  (i.e. If you missed class #7, you must wait until we are running another course and come into class #7.)  There will be a $35.00 charge to make up for a missed class.  If you miss any class, you will not be able to take the final exam until the missed class(es) is made up.  If you miss any class of the parent/student night meet or the zoom 1 through 2, you will not be able to start driving until the class(es) is made up. According to state law, any missed classes must be made up within 6 months of the original course.  It is your responsibility to call the office to arrange your make-up date for missed classes.

 

REQUIRED PAPERWORK:

It is your responsibility to make sure if a medical form is required (due to medical condition), that it be completed by a physician and returned. If these forms are returned late, this will cause a delay in scheduling your driving times.

 

EVALUATION:

Students must maintain at least a 70% grade on classroom work and receive an 80% grade on the final exam.

 

DRIVING:

We will be scheduling you to drive throughout the course.  To complete everyone’s driving promptly we must make careful use of time.  If you schedule a drive but cannot make the appointment, we request 48-hour notice, but will graciously accept a 24-hour notice of cancellation.  There will be a $60.00/hour charge to reschedule any lesson cancelled within less than 24 hours’ notice.  Please record each driving time in your Motorist Handbook and Study Guide for easy reference.

 

PARENTAL INVOLVMENT:  A parent, legal guardian or spouse (sponsor) will be required to ride in the car of the student for 1 hour to complete the course.  We request that only one parent observe during this time.

 

SNOW OR WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION:

If high school is cancelled in the morning, we may still drive in the afternoon.  Please call us if in doubt.  If we need to cancel because of inclement weather, we will call you as soon as we make the decision to cancel the driving.  You will be rescheduled for the next available opening.

 

 

PAYEMNT:

Complete enrollment will take place on the first day of class.  Payment for the course is expected to be paid in full by the last day of the first week of class.  Driving will not be scheduled until the course is paid for in full.  We accept cash or checks.  A customer’s check must be cleared before the student receives their driving course certificate.  There is a $35.00 charge plus bank fee, for checks returned due to insufficient funds and payment will then be required by certified bank check.

 

Refund Policy:

Our school has a no refund under any circumstance.

 

RESPECT:

Please respect our property in the classroom and car.  Maintain respect for your fellow students and us and we will do the same.

During the course if there is a topic you would like us to cover more thoroughly, please let us know!  Remember you are paying for this course…maybe even with your own money.  Get your money’s worth in this course and it will last you a lifetime.  Ask questions!

 

HARASSMENT POLICY:

A driver education school, including employees, agents and driver education may not intimidate or harass an employee, student or other person receiving driver education based on sex, color, race, religion, national origin, age, marital status, physical or mental disability or sex orientation. For the purpose of this paragraph harassment includes the following, which may be a series of incidents or a single occurrence: unwelcome sexual advances, gestures, comments or contact: threats: offensive jokes: subjecting employees, students or other person receiving driver education to ridicule, slurs or derogatory action. For the purpose of this paragraph, sexual-harassment includes the following, which may be a series of incidents or single occurrence: verbal, nonverbal and physical behavior that is sexual in nature such as comments about a person’s looks, personal inquiries, sexual jokes, use of derogatory sexual stereotypes, uttering sexually suggestive sounds, writing sexual notes, use of computer equipment to send or receive material of a sexual nature, looking someone up-and down, staring or leering at someone’s body, deliberate blocking of a person’s path, displaying sexual visuals, making sexual gestures, massaging, touching, deliberates brushing up against someone, hugging, pinching, grabbing or other sexual touching, contact or act.

SERVICES WE OFFER: After you have your Learners Permit

 1. In our car or your car - Lessons: $75.00 per hour 

 2. Road Test Prep Lessons: $75.00 per hour in our car or in your car

 3. General Driving Lessons: $75.00 per hour to work on whatever the student needs to work on in the Saco area.

 4. Car for use on your Road Test: One hour in car lesson plus our car to use for your test. Fee is $120.00

COMMERICAL CLASS A TRUCK INFORMATION:

ENTRY-LEVEL DRIVER'S TRAINING (ELDT) Theory training that covers the required FMCSA mandates and curriculum for the entry-level drivers, who want to get a CDL License. The training prepares students for the written exam and the final exam, and our truck school is certificate and license by the Dmv plus a provider on the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry (TPR). 


Class A full class is $6200.00 for the Automatic truck or the stardard shift truck non-restricted license for $7,500.00 for the standard shift truck.  You get 78 hours classroom instruction; 25.5 hours lab instruction (which means you are at our range or in our classroom studying test questions, pre-trips and/or working in groups); 32.5 hours on the range doing pre-trip/post-trip, straight line backing, alley docking, off-set backing, parallel parking-right side & blind side, coupling and uncoupling, and other maneuvers.  And a minimum of 12 hours of behind the wheel-on road instruction.  That also inlcudes our truck for your road test for up to two tries (if needed) for the Scarborough DOT test site.  We have two Volvo 10 speed standard shift trucks and two automatic 13 speed Volvo I-shift automatic trucks.

Did you do the ONLINE THEORY CLASS and have your CDL Permit?  Our school can do all the other requirements (32.5 hours yard/range work and 12 hours on the road) with you for $145.00 per hour.
As a provider, we can do all the requirements needed to upload your completion to the Federal Government ELDT site, so you can take your truck test in your state.

Our Truck School is Accredited by the Federal Government on the Provider List and licensed by the State of Maine

CDL Class B full class is for the automatic truck $4,500.00 and for the standard shift truck the price is $6,200.00 you get 42 plus hours of classroom, 18 hours on the range in our trucks working on maneuvers such as pre-trip/post trip, straight line backing, alley docking, off set backing, parallel parking - sight side and blind side, coupling and uncoupling, and other maneuvers.  Plusyou get 12 hours on the road in our trucks. Also includes our truck for your Road Test up to two tries, if needed for yourRoad Test for the ScarboroughDOT test site. Truck Course Policies 2024

 

CLASSROOM:

We look forward to a productive class and having you become a good safe driver!  We have set up a few guidelines for the course to help everything run smoothly and we will explain some of the things we will be doing in the classroom and in the car.  GoDriving.co is certified by the Secretary of State.  You must attend all 78 hours for class A and 42 hours for class B and finish all labs, range and behind the wheel hours. Have your Medical dot card, drug test passed when required, before our school can upload your information FMSA web site to be eligible to take the Road Test. You will get the use of our equipment up to 2 times for the Road Test before an additional fee applies. Also, you have one year from the classroom date to get your permit and complete all requirement, or you will be considered ineligible to complete the program and need to start OVER PLUS PAY THE FEES AGAIN.
